FCC 3: Brad Wilde "Get Ready for a Beating"
My FCC3 "fighters to follow" series concludes with an impressive welterweight Budo Warriors Champion.
He stands at 5 feet 8 inches tall, coming in with a record of 6-2-0. Fighting out of Hurtlocker MMA and Fight factory. From Oldham, Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome MR. BRAD WILDE!!
Brad tells me he started training Muay Thai at about 15; he's 27 years old now. After which he added Jiu-Jitsu into his game, giving him a good grounding to get into MMA which he did about three years ago. He prefers to stand and brawl but most of his fights seem to end on the floor with him submitting his opponent, although having said that he does love to throw bombs and dish out a good helping of ground and pound.
I asked Brad a few questions ahead of his bout on the 23rd and here's what he had to say.
ADDICTEDMMA: Hello Brad, First off. Thanks for taking time out to chat to us here at AddictedMMA. How are you doing? Are you looking forward to the 23rd?
BRAD: I'm doing great thanks, really excited for this one. The last FCC show was awesome and this one's looking to be even better.
ADDICTEDMMA: Oh yes, FCC do know how to put on a good show. We're under three weeks out from the big night now. How's the fight camp been for this one?
BRAD: The fight camp is going really well and touch wood no injuries at all as of yet which is a nice change. I'm feeling fit strong and ready to go. I'm definitely on form to take home the FCC welterweight belt to add to my collection.
ADDICTEDMMA: You sound really confident, we like that here at Addicted. Do you know much about your opponent on the night, Jonny Mann, apparently you're not on his level?
BRAD: No I don't know too much about him to be honest apart from obviously his height advantage which is nothing new there I'm always the short arse! (Laughs).
As far as the "I'm not on his level" comment, I agree I'm way past his level.
ADDICTEDMMA: How do you see the fight going Brad?
BRAD: I see the fight going my way. I don't think Jonny has got what is needed to beat me. I think I'll be able to start with working out his range with a bit of stand up, then I'll pick him up, take him for a ride, big slam and then some heavy G'n'P.
ADDICTEDMMA: That's one hell of a game plan right there Brad. Do you have any words for Jonny ahead of the bout?
BRAD: Just get ready for a beating coz I want this belt.....Badly!!!
ADDICTEDMMA: Nice, them's fighting words right there!! Now, can you tell us a bit about Hurtlocker MMA and fight factory.
BRAD: Hurtlocker MMA is run by Baz White and me; the classes are run out of GFC Muay Thai boxing gym in Bury. It is a close team and it's where I took my MMA game to the next level. Fight factory - Heywood is owned by Kenneth Richardson, he has lots of top level coaches in various disciplines and the facilities are absolutely second to none. I learn lots of things every single time I train there.
ADDICTEDMMA: If Dana white were in the UK scouting for new talent, what would your message be to him? This is your chance to sell 'Brad Wilde'......GO!!
BRAD: I'd simply ask him to watch my videos to show him how much heart I have and to see the progress I've made in a short time. I'd also show him my title belts, medals, trophies and all of the "fighter of the night" bonuses I've won.
ADDICTEDMMA: Well, it's been a pleasure to chat to you and thanks for your time Brad. Would you like to give any shout outs before I hit you with the question everyone wants to know the answer to?!

BRAD: That's an easy one. MMA, I eat, sleep and drink it!!!
