Anthony Ferguson Talks UIC 8 with AddictedMMA
The card is littered with fights that will have the crowd on their feet throughout, and if all goes to plan this fight will be right up with the best of them! We caught up with Anthony to see what he's expecting from the bout!
AddictedMMA: Hi Anthony how's it going? It's not long until your bout with Bruno Marques at UIC 8. How excited are you about this one and being the co-main event of the evening?
Anthony: I'm very excited and extremely pumped about this one!! It's a big fight for me and being the co-main event is the extra icing on the cake
AddictedMMA: How is the preparation going for the fight? I trust all is in good order?
Anthony: Preparation has been great for this one. I've been drilling all aspects of my game and I'm ready for whatever Bruno brings to me on Saturday.
AddictedMMA: Bruno is known for his aggressive style, similar to that of the legendary Wanderlei Silva. You also love to stand and bang so are you planning to meet in the middle and simply "have it out?"
Anthony: Like I said I'm ready for whatever he brings to me!! I'm not expecting him to stand and bang but if he does I'm more than happy with that!! As for him being aggressive I'm not fazed by that in the slightest this is an aggressive sport!!
There's only one Wanderlei Silva.
AddictedMMA: You're a fighter I particularly enjoy watching due to the way you go about your business in the cage. You won your last fight under the UIC banner via ground & pound, what are the chances of us seeing a bit more of that this time around?
Anthony: Sprawl and brawl is what I'm about! I'm a stand up fighter and I will always play to my strengths!! However my ground game is ever improving.
AddictedMMA: UIC 8 is stacked with some insanely good looking fights which is a testament to Paul Sutherland's matchmaking abilities. Apart from your own which fight are you looking forward to the most?
Anthony: I'm looking forward to seeing all of my team mates go to war but mostly Marky P. vs. Leavers.*
AddictedMMA: The main event is the trilogy fight between Ben Constantine and Lee Caers, how do you see that fight going?
Anthony: I'm gonna go with Caers for this one.
AddictedMMA: You fought on both UIC 6 and UIC 7 that played host to the first two bouts between Lee and Ben. Can you tell me in your own words how exciting these two fights were? I've banged on about it so much I think people believe I'm deluded!!
Anthony: Both fights were great! Both fighters bring it and both fights were real crowd pleasers!! I'm sure the next one will be more of the same!!
AddictedMMA: Is there anyone you'd like to thank or send a shout out to?
Anthony: Yeah a big shout out to team force family.
AddictedMMA: And now it's time....for our signature question! Aside from MMA what is Anthony Ferguson Addicted to?
Anthony: I'm a sucker for a bag of haribo!
AddictedMMA: Thanks for your time Anthony and good luck for August 4th.
Anthony: See y'all on the 4th osss!
*Since we spoke to Anthony Chris Leavers has withdrawn from his bout against Mark Percival.
