Henderson vs. Evans and Shogun vs. Nogueira II Booked For UFC 161 In Winnipeg

When the UFC hits Canada later this year, they will be bringing two epic looking light heavyweight contests, as USA Today has confirmed that both Rashad Evans vs. Dan Henderson and Mauricio Rua vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira will take place at UFC 161, which goes down at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on June 15, 2013.

33 year old "Suga" Rashad Evans (17-3-1) recently lost a disappointing decision to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in the co-main event of UFC 156. It means this is now the first time during his nine year career that he has lost back to back fights, with Dana White questioning Evans' hunger to still compete. The Blackzilian trained fighter will be looking to prove the doubters wrong by rediscovering the kind of form that saw him earn wins over Chuck Liddell, Michael Bisping, Tito Ortiz, Forrest Griffin, Rampage Jackson and Phil Davis.

42 year old Dan "Hendo" Henderson (29-9) recently saw his hopes of a title shot fade away after he lost a split decision to former UFC champion Lyoto Machida. Hendo's legendary career has seen him win gold in Rings, Strikeforce and PRIDE, with UFC gold being the only title that has eluded him. The loss to Machida put an end to a four fight winning streak which saw him score wins over Shogun Rua, Fedor Emelianenko and Rafael Cavalcante.

31 year old Mauricio "Shogun" Rua (21-7) has never been as good as he was back in 2005, a year many argue is the greatest year for any fighter in history after the Brazilian won five straight fights and defeated the likes of Nogueira, Alistair Overeem, Ricardo Arona and Rampage Jackson on the way to winning the PRIDE Middleweight Grand Prix. Since joining the UFC, Shogun has won the promotions 205lb title, defeated Chuck Liddell, Forrest Griffin and Lyoto Machida and owns a 5-5 record. Most recently Rua was on the losing end of a decision to Alexander Gustafsson.

36 year old Antonio Rogerio "Lil' Nogs" Nogueira (21-6) scored arguably the biggest win of his career recently when he earned a decision over the highly ranked Rashad Evans at UFC 156. That marked his first fight in over a year, and he has now won two straight with the promotion. The former PRIDE veteran and younger brother of Minotauro Nogueira also holds notable victories over Kazushi Sakuraba, Dan Henderson, Alistair Overeem (Twice) and Tito Ortiz.

Here is the current line-up for UFC 161....

Dan Henderson vs. Rashad Evans
Shogun Rua vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira
Stipe Miocic vs. Soa Palelei
