Report: Jon Fitch Injured, Out Of UFC on FUEL TV 4 Bout With Aaron Simpson

And so the UFC injury curse hits another top fighter, as a report from MMTorch.com has former top ranked welterweight Jon Fitch being forced from his bout with Aaron Simpson due to a knee injury. The two men were expected to collide at UFC on FUEL TV 4, which goes down July 11th, 2012.

The fight was set to see Jon Fitch (23-4-1) make his first UFC appearance of the year, after getting knocked out cold in his last fight against Johny Hendricks at UFC 141. The loss was Fitch's first since a 2008 UFC title defeat to Georges St Pierre. No word on how serious this knee injury is, or how long the AKA standout could be benched for.

No word yet on where this leaves 37 year old Aaron "A-Train" Simpson (11-3), who was expected to make his welterweight debut against Fitch. It is likely that UFC will be able to find him another opponent, given that they have over one month till fight night.
