BJ Penn: Rory Will See I'm Someone To Be Reckoned With
"This is exactly what I needed. It's got everything that interests me, you know? The Canadian fans, I have a lot of Canadian fans that always come down and tell me "hi" when I'm in Hawaii, stop by my gym and stuff. But there were also a lot of Canadian fans that were really hard on me because of some of the stuff I said in the 'Prime Time' leading up. Ya know, I said some things about Firas. I said some things about 'GSP.' I know that's the past, but I wanna go up there and show them that, hey, I'm someone to be reckoned with. When I'm standing across in the Octagon, this is gonna be a tough fight. This isn't gonna be a walkthrough. This isn't gonna be, 'Let's go push B.J. Penn up against the fence. Hold him on the fence for a little bit and now we got him.' You know, I got some ideas going into this camp, and I think it's gonna be great. The fans are the ones who are gonna win in the end."Could it be, are we really going to get to see THAT guy again? I'm talking about the hungry, fired up "Prodigy" from 2009, the man who bounced back from defeat to Georges St Pierre and absolutely schooled both Kenny Florian and Diego Sanchez in devastating fashion. Reading these words, it seems that it's a strong possibility.
33 year old BJ "The Prodigy" Penn (16-8-2) will return to the Octagon after little less than a year away from the sport, when he faces Rory "Ares" MacDonald at UFC 152 in Canada.
Can the legendary former two weight UFC champion return to the kind of form that saw him blast through the likes of Sean Sherk, Matt Hughes, Takanori Gomi and Diego Sanchez. Or will we see the Penn who gassed out in fights against Nick Diaz, Jon Fitch, Frankie Edgar and Georges St Pierre.
Alot of questions that will be answered September 22nd, 2012, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, at UFC 152.
