UFC 149: Matt Riddle vs. Chris Clements Set With Siyar Bahadurzada Injured
Blah blah....dreaded injury curse....blah blah....hate it so much...blah!Yup, that's right Addicts, i'm afraid to report that the UFC has another man down, as explosive welterweight Siyar Bahadurzada has been forced out of his UFC 149 clash with Chris Clements, and has now been replaced by Matt Riddle.
UFC announced the bad news via there official Twitter account:
UFC 149: oh sweet mercy.... Siyar out injured, new bout is Chris Clements vs Matt Riddle
This may be the most re-arranged bout in UFC history, as it was originally Thiago Alves vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama, then a series of injuries saw it become Thiago Alves vs. Siyar Bahadurzada, then Bahadurzada vs. Clements, and now we have Clements vs. Matt Riddle.....i'm taking bets on whether it stays that way for the next three weeks.
Chris "The Menace" Clements (11-4) joined the UFC after scoring impressive wins over the likes of Jonathan Goulet and Drew Fickett, both UFC veterans. Clements made his UFC debut against Keith Wisniewski at UFC 145, scoring a hard fought split decision.
26 year old Matt "Deep Waters" Riddle (6-3) is one of the few fighters you will find that has spent his entire pro fighting career inside the Octagon. Riddle joined the UFC afer a spell on The Ultimate Fighter season seven. Since joining the promotion, Riddle has put together a decent record, and notched solid wins over DaMarques Johnson and Henry Martinez.
UFC 149 has been blighted by injuries, losing Jose Aldo, Michael Bisping, Minotauro Noguiera, Thiago Silva, Thiago Alves and now Siyar Bahadurzada. The event takes place Saturday, July 21st, 2012.
