Jungle Fight Lightweight Champion Adriano Martins Signs With Strikeforce

It has been revealed by reliable Brazilian website TATAME.com that Strikeforce have signed top Brazilian lightweight and current Jungle Fight champion Adriano Martins to compete in their 155lb division, which is currently championed by Gilbert Melendez.

The news was broken to TATAME by Martins' managers Alex Davis and Samir Nadaf.

30 year old Adriano Martins (23-6) trains out of Top Life Amazonas, and won the Jungle Fight lightweight title back in November of 2011, defeating Neilson Gomes via knockout in just 81 seconds. Martins also managed to defend his title in more impressive fashion, scoring a 62 second knockout over Jimmy Donahue.

Martins has been on a hell of a run lately, dropping just one bout out of his last ten, including six finishes inside the distance.

No word yet on who Martins will face for his Strikeforce debut, but the 155lb division is one of Strikeforce's deeper divisions, so expect something to be announced shortly.
